ATTENTION: READ FYI due to severe drought
FYI: This tree season we will be navigating the uncharted territory of a severe drought. In 30+ years of selling trees, we have never experienced a drought this severe during our harvest season. For those of you wanting our advice on when to purchase your tree, here it is: (1) If you plan on taking your tree down before January we believe you should be ok to purchase it Thanksgiving Weekend. (2) If you let it up into January, we recommend waiting another week. (3) If you frequently forget to water daily or it’s near a heat source….100% wait an extra week. We will be staying open until December 20th this year. Reminders: Water, Water and Water some more if needed. Check the water level twice/day. Make sure the trunk is submerged in water. It should drink a lot the first several days. Remember, we have not had any significant rain in over 8 weeks. For those worried about a pre-cut tree, we are putting off cutting until the last possible day. These trees will be put under sprinklers and watered as much as possible. We have always provided high quality trees, but we are approaching this year with caution due to the current conditions. Water and cold temperatures are necessary for good needle retention and we have not had either. Please consider waiting a little longer this year before purchasing your tree. We are thankful Thanksgiving is later this year.
